Platz Associates was retained as the Architect of Record to facilitate the complete renovation of five levels of this historic landmark. Work included the restoration of the exterior, including brickwork, roofing and windows. A complete programming of the bank’s space needs was completed prior to the extensive restoration of the interior of the building. As part of the project a 100 year old community room on the upper floor was brought back to its original splendor. Phase II of this project included the restoration of the building to left of the original bank building. This building now houses the bank’s Trust Department. Both buildings received historical tax credits for the client. Platz Associates also managed the construction throughout the project.

Phase III of this project involved the creation of a lower level drive-thru window and an overhead link to Phase IV, which is a new two level parking structure with banking activities taking place on level three above the parking. Architecture for the new building is sensitive to the historic nature of the site as well as downtown Bath. The completion of the four phases of this project brought the entire site up to current building codes and all ADA accessibility issues.
