Judsons Plaza is a multi-tenant retail space in Carrabassett Valley near Sugarloaf Mountain Ski Resort. Platz Associates successfully applied for the retail building to utilize the existing building footprint, rather than conform to new commercial setbacks that would have pushed it further back from the street. The building was designed to reflect the historical vernacular buildings of Northwestern Maine. The post-and-beam aesthetic is complimented by the live-edge, wide-board stain pine siding. The design intention was to allow the building to be divided into different configurations for space and size flexibility at the tenants desire.

Platz Associates also designed the current space for one of the tenants, Jar Co. The spaces have a warm interior with exposed wood, combined with rich green and dark tones to create a natural and calm space, reflecting that of the surrounding forest.

This project is an example of how Platz Associates leverages its construction management background to find economical solutions that does not degrade the quality nor performance of the final product.
