Platz Associates was retained by a private development company to breathe life into this building built in the early 1920’s. Rehabilitation of this structure included the removal of an adjacent building which shared a party wall with this structure. A four story circulation tower was added to the building which houses elevators, a stairway and a new entrance. Greenhouse glass was added to the south face basement level to increase the value of that space. The tower was built with brick from a Rhode Island company, the supplier of the original brick for the building. Interior space was designed for People’s Heritage Bank and the Bill Johnson Insurance Agency.
