Platz Associates designed this 18-unit, market-rate apartment building in Sabattus, Maine. New constructions that are privately financed are less prevalent in today's market, but utilizing lessons learned from our extensive Maine State Housing experience, we provided designs that meet the project scope and budget.
The building is spatially efficient with siding utilized to break up the facade into modular-scale elements. Platz Associates utilized a u-shaped circulation strategy including halls and stairs to minimize wasted space, maximize living areas, and windows on the perimeter. The interior is open concept with ample daylighting within each of the dwellings.
The units themselves feature black fixtures and hardware, granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances to give a modern feel. Other features include mini-split heat pumps, secure keyless app based building access, keyless unit entrance, and two parking spaces.
