Built in 1852 with Bates Mill No. 2, both were widened in 1923 and the iconic clock tower was added facing downtown Lewiston, Maine. Approximately half of Bates Mill No. 2 is comprised of the Lofts at the Bates Mill, a 48 residential unit complex. The other half is currently being developed as office and commercial spaces with Northeast Bank occupying the top floor.
