PICKER HOUSE,
CONTINENTAL
MILL NO. 3
An adaptive reuse of a historic mill building into 72 apartments, this mixed-income development offers a perfect blend of modern amenities and historic charm. The 1, 2, & 3-bedroom apartments take advantage of the tall ceilings and monumental-sized windows to deliver both bright interiors and strong connectivity to the allure of the historic Continental Mill and the natural beauty of the adjacent Simard-Payne Memorial Park.
The preservation of historic features within the National Parks Service tax credit program requirements were combined with contemporary comforts designed to enhance the living experience. These include indoor bicycle storage, a rooftop deck with stunning views of the Androscoggin River, and a fully-equipped indoor fitness area to help residents to stay active and healthy.
Additional project requirements included the coordination of permit approvals for the demolition of two adjacent structures to provide new pedestrian connections to the parking areas, and to the interior urban courtyard.
